CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Preserving the Beauty of Your Nativity Scene

Your Atelier Nativitas Nativity Scene is a handcrafted work of art, created from carefully selected materials, delicate details, and individually arranged figures. It is designed for indoor display and, with proper care, can become a cherished family heirloom for generations.

Display Environment and Dusting

Display Environment

Your Nativity scene is intended for indoor use only.

Whenever possible, display it in a clean, calm, and dust-free room. Avoid placing it in areas with open windows, drafts, strong air movement, outdoor air exposure, fireplaces, heating vents, air-conditioning vents, humidifiers, moisture, or condensation.

The scene should be protected from dust, direct sunlight, excessive heat, high humidity, and sudden temperature changes.

Under normal conditions, the Nativity scene should not require regular cleaning. The best care is to place it in a suitable environment where dust and environmental exposure are kept to a minimum.

Dusting

If dust does settle on the Nativity scene or figures, remove it very carefully using a soft artist’s brush or a clean, soft paintbrush.

Do not use microfiber cloths, towels, wipes, sponges, compressed air, water, cleaning agents, solvents, or chemical products.

Dust gently and without pressure, especially around architectural details, ornaments, painted surfaces, moss, bark, branches, vegetation, landscape elements, fabric garments, and the figures.

Never rub, scrub, or pull on any surface or decorative element.

Handling and Setup

Connecting and Positioning

Always handle the Nativity scene with great care.

When setting up the Nativity scene, first remove the power cable from its designated compartment. Connect it to the marked socket on the back of the Nativity scene before placing the scene in its final display position.

Once the cable is connected, carefully position the Nativity scene in the desired location. Always lift or move the scene by holding the solid base. Never lift it by buildings, columns, trees, roofs, ornaments, vegetation, lighting elements, or decorative details.

Figures and Delicate Details

After the Nativity scene has been properly positioned, place the figures and accessories carefully by hand.

The scenery, buildings, columns, trees, vegetation, ornaments, lighting elements, and figures are delicate and should be protected from pressure, impact, or accidental drops.

When positioning the figures, place them gently and avoid dragging them across painted, textured, or decorated surfaces.

Packing and Storage

Figures and Electrical Accessories

Before storing the Nativity scene, remove the figures first and place each figure carefully into its designated figure box or compartment.

After the figures have been secured, place the power cable and any electrical accessories into their separate storage box or compartment.

Only after the figures and cable have been safely stored should the Nativity scene itself be placed into its custom-made premium wooden storage box.

Storage Box and Environment

The wooden storage box is designed to help protect the artwork during storage and transportation. Always slide or place the Nativity scene into the box slowly and carefully, making sure that no decorative element, vegetation, cable, or figure is caught or pressed.

Store the box in a clean, dry, indoor location away from moisture, dust, heat, direct sunlight, and sudden temperature changes.

Craftsmanship and Natural Materials

Individually Handcrafted

Each Atelier Nativitas Nativity Scene is individually handcrafted. Slight variations in texture, color, shape, surface, grain, and detail are part of authentic craftsmanship and make every piece unique.

Natural Materials

Some scenes may include genuine natural materials such as wood, bark, moss, branches, vegetation, stone-like textures, or reclaimed elements. These materials are chosen for their authentic character and must be treated with special care.

Preserving the Artwork

With thoughtful handling and proper storage, your Nativity scene and figures will retain their beauty and meaning for many Christmas seasons to come.
