This line is inspired by the traditional Nativity culture of the Alpine regions, yet it is not a reproduction of something already existing. Alpina is an original artistic development by Atelier Nativitas, a unique interpretation of the Christmas story through alpine architecture, handcrafted detail, and a deeply inviting sense of place.
In Alpina, the mystery of Christmas is brought into a world that feels familiar, sheltered, and full of warmth. The wooden structures, rustic beams, mountain paths, glowing windows, small bridges, and carefully arranged details create an atmosphere of home, comfort, and wonder. The Figures of Alpina
Carved Tradition, Painted by Hand
For Alpina, Atelier Nativitas uses baroque-inspired wooden figures from the rural carving tradition of Val Gardena in South Tyrol. Their expressive forms and traditional craftsmanship harmonize naturally with the alpine architecture and warm atmosphere of the scene.
The high-quality figures are individually painted by hand. They are approximately 10 cm tall and are known for their fine modeling, traditional character, and harmonious coloring.
The figure selection and placement are coordinated with the scale and final handcrafted composition of each work. The image illustrates the visual character of the figures used for Alpina. Exact figures and arrangements may vary.
